GLEEKS Show Love for GLEE on World Premiere Night

The Gleeks were out in full force!  The glitz and glamour of tinseltown made it’s way to the westside, in the back yard and playground of UCLA at the Regency Village Theatre.  For another star-studded evening with hundreds of adoring fans, the hit show presented The World Premiere of GLEE, The 3D Concert Movie.

Matt Kemp Earns June Honors

June 15, 2011; Los Angeles, CA, USA; Matt Kemp in his throw-back uniform as the Cincinnati Reds sweep the Los Dodgers for the first time since 2004 with a win at Chavez Ravine, 7-2.

Matt Kemp had a phenomenal June.  In fact, a June that turns out to be the best month of his career.  He matched his August 2009 career high of nine home runs and eight stolen bases.  His response to what’s happening to the team off the field is something to be respected.  With such a strong individual showing under pressure, the team’s effort has wained, falling to the bottom of the division.

Amidst Woes, Ethier Addresses the Media

As though the Los Angeles Dodgers needed additional negative press, the heightened attention appears to be taking it’s toll on some players. In the aftermath of the now infamous third-digit-salute, Dodgers RF Andre Ethier (16) can only complete his actions by saying three words… “What, too soon?”  Dodgers owner Frank McCourt and wife Jamie McCourt currently in a bitter dispute with the future of the team in the balance…  Major League Baseball stepping in and taking over operations due to financial concerns… Safety and security concerns amongst paying patrons… And now… Possible safety concerns between the media and players!

On the heals of a 30-game hitting streak, one would think an image of grace and appreciation towards admiring fans would take precedence over personal discontent.  Apparently, not.  When faced with surmounting pressure to perform, some crack, bringing down the facade of ‘good character’.

Now, in all fairness, the actions of one player does not speak for those of an entire team. In fact, some players made attempts to quail and calm the emotions, preventing further escalation. Nonetheless, Ethier still had some things he wanted to get off his chest… a single salute with the third digit on each hand.  In the end, we hope he got his point across to… aspiring little leaguers and patrons, Major League Baseball, and oh yeah… the press!  Because after all, making sure the ‘press’ gets your point is far more important than the latter.

Baby-Daddy Drama A Hollywood Trend

Padma Lakshmi isn’t the only Hollywood bombshell with custody battles to contend with.  Reports indicate that Academy Award winning super star Halle Berry is currently being challenged by ex-bo Gabriel Aubry.

Sources are reporting that although a judge rejected Aubry’s request to prevent Berry from taking baby-Nahla to a “New Years Eve” shoot, he plans to raise the same issue again in court as Berry prepares to leave to star on Broadway in a play opposite Samuel L. Jackson, “The Mountain Top”.

There has always been a trend in Hollywood to find love, have a child and MAYBE marry.  Consequently, the children are left to bare the burden of their parents actions.

With hope, a resolution can be met with little interference in Nahla’s development.  Will Olivier Martinez be the one to offer stability and normalcy?
